The Easter Festival

Easter - the keynote is Resurrection

Resurrection is achieved through Spiritual livingness.
Sacrifice frees the soul or spirit to achieve the next step on the continuous path from the depths of matter to highest spirit. We experience the constant pull of the involutionary path, like magnetism, and constantly need to give up those parts of ourselves which are naturally attracted "downwards".

We are all moving towards something - by desire
We are moving through something - gathering experience
We are moving away from something - experience gained in the past and not needing to be repeated

The saying "It is dangerous to dwell in the past" is occultly true. As one Master is said to have put it "Habits of residence which imperil the resident".

Perhaps we shouldn’t lay so much emphasis on the sufferings of the personality but put more emphasis on the soul’s imprisonment in unredeemed substance and the need to achieve freedom. Death of the personality and its attachments means renewed and increased life for the soul.

Aries - carries the energy of divine will. The Way of Resurrection is the radiant way, the lighted way which leads from one great expression of divinity in man to another; it is the way which expresses the light of the intelligence, the radiant substance of true love, and the inflexible will which permits no defeat or withdrawal. Here is an added necessity for spiritual workers - to evoke this inflexible will, a will which provides the "strength to love" because the will of God is Love.

The secret of the will lies in the recognition of the divine nature of man, and in the inevitability of the ultimate triumph of good. Christ was the first human to anchor a thread of will energy from Shamballa on earth. The crucifixion initiation he passed through is the fourth, the initiate moving from the fixed cross to the cardinal.

We are all on a cross, whether it be the mutable cross, the fixed or the cardinal. The vertical part is formed by the flow of energies from the soul and other subtle vehicles. Some of these energies pass through unregistered, some find a measure of response in us and stimulate us. This energy we can use in our particular fields of service, radiating it out horizontally. We serve from where we are. This is why the cross is a symbol of life, it guarantees the flow of those energies of life and love which are needed to move the wheel of evolution forward.
